In a recent development, three Connecticut hospitals managed by Prospect Medical Holdings encountered a cyberattack and subsequent data breach in August. The FBI intervened, while the White House closely monitored the situation.
A disclosed letter sent to the Office of the Connecticut Attorney General revealed that nearly 110,000 residents received notifications this week, indicating their potential involvement in the breach.
The affected hospitals—Manchester Memorial Hospital, Rockville General Hospital, and Waterbury Hospital—reportedly had sensitive information compromised, including patient names, addresses, dates of birth, diagnoses, lab results, medications, and financial data.
Individuals whose social security numbers or driver’s license details were impacted are being offered two years of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services.
To address concerns, Prospect Medical Holdings has established a dedicated phone line for inquiries related to the breach. Additionally, the hospital network has heightened security measures to bolster its system monitoring and prevent future cyber threats.
