Stanley Steemer Reports Data Breach Impacting Sensitive Consumer Information

Stanley Steemer International, Inc. disclosed a recent breach, notifying the Attorney General of Maine after detecting unauthorized access to sections of its computer network. The breach exposed sensitive consumer data, encompassing names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and financial account details. Subsequently, the company initiated the dispatch of data breach notification letters to affected individuals.

The breach, spanning from February 10 to March 6, 2023, prompted Stanley Steemer to fortify its systems upon detecting unusual activity and engage federal law enforcement for investigation. It was confirmed that during this period, an unauthorized entity accessed and obtained specific files containing confidential consumer data within the network.

Upon learning of this exposure, Stanley Steemer conducted a comprehensive review to identify the compromised information and impacted consumers, subsequently dispatching breach notification letters on November 15, 2023.
