Wayne Bank Addresses Customer Concerns After Vendor Data Breach

In response to a recent vendor data breach, Wayne Bank has notified its customers of a potential exposure of personal information. The incident revolves around vulnerabilities identified in MOVEit Transfer, a file transfer software utilized by a third-party vendor.

Importantly, Wayne Bank clarified that the breach did not compromise any of its internal systems, assuring customers that its ability to provide seamless services remains unaffected.

An investigation revealed that unauthorized entities gained access to vendor files transferred via MOVEit between May 27 and 31. Among these files, certain documents may have contained sensitive client information, including names, full social security numbers, date of birth, full account numbers, and routing numbers.

To address concerns and mitigate potential risks, Wayne Bank is taking proactive measures. It is extending a complimentary two-year identity monitoring service through Kroll to affected customers. This service encompasses credit monitoring, fraud consultation, and assistance with identity theft restoration.

In light of the situation, the bank has established a dedicated customer call center, reachable at 866-799-0690 from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This initiative aims to provide customers with a direct channel for inquiries regarding the data breach incident.
